With the hectic and complicated lifestyle that people have nowadays, some may find it difficult to spare time to relax and spend time for one self. This might be for the reason that such relaxation period cannot fit one’s schedule. However, despite of the busy world we are in, it is very essential for a healthy body to have some exercise or to have a sport to enjoy with. While some may enjoy having playing traditional sports, many find themselves joyful with the water. Body boarding is one of the water sports that many people now enjoys and body surfboards are now placing themselves in the shelves of sports stores.
The most common water sports is surfing. But there is another type that is enjoying an increasing popularity, the body boarding. Unlike surfing which uses a surfboard with a complex design and shape, body boarding uses a less complicated, simple foam rectangle slab in playing with the waves.
Body surfboards are used by the player to lie down or make a flat position in the water. Available in various foams, this can be designed to fit the flexibility and control that the user may wish to have. This is for the reason that different foams are used for specific water temperatures as each differ in performance.
Basically, body surfboards are used by holding onto the board and kick with the waves. A skilled rider of body surfboards, however, can balance in a position and may manage to do half standing stunt.
Like any material used in sports, body surfboards can be enhanced. A carbon stringer is often added to the body surfboards to give support to the core. As an effect, this can increase the speed and helps the board to be stronger.
The design of body surfboards differ from a regular surfboard. Unlike a surfboard, there are no fins on the body board. To have greater wave control, grooves and channels are cut into the board. Moreover, the said enhancement also increase your chances on making tricks and how to ride on the waves.
The feature that affects the body board most is the shape of the body board. Boards that are wider near the nose are designed for prone riders. This is for the reason that the weight of the body of the rider is kept at balance at the front. Boards that are wider in the middle on the other hand are designed for those who ride half standing or drop-knee.
Body surfboarding can be more enjoyable when using the appropriate body surfboards. But whatever type of riding you do with it, the most important thing is that you enjoy the sports and find time for leisure.
